We are seeking a Campus Support Clerk who is motivated to help individuals and families navigate lifes challenges and achieve long-term wellness. This position performs a variety of routine secretarial, advance clerical, and specialized typing duties utilizing a personal computer as well as exercises judgment in the application of established office practices and procedures.

  • Performs and/or participates in Quality and Developmental activities as assigned by the Campus Support Coordinator (CSC) or Campus Support Director (CSD). Utilizes a communications transmitter to transmit and receive information as necessary. Uses emergency communication system as needed.

  • Answers and screen incoming calls, routes calls to appropriate persons and areas, and take messages with detail and accuracy. Maintains a complete filing system for identifying individuals and a record of visits to individuals. Greets families and visitors and completes necessary visitation forms. Insures all restrictions are followed.

  • Prepares recurring reports, conducts research, posts information (i.e. Campus Support observations, reported incidents, record various information in logs, key time and leave in SCEIS, etc.). Performs the duties of Information/Communications Specialist during one of three daily shifts.

  • Types correspondence for CSCs or CSD ensuring documents are drafted and proofed for typographical errors, correct punctuation, and grammatical errors. Types all confidential reports requiring sufficient knowledge and confidentiality. Schedules meetings, reserves meeting rooms, and prepares meeting agendas.

  • Assists the Campus Support Coordinators with obtaining residential service staffing numbers and documents as appropriate. Assists with completion of target staffing documents.

  • Operates and monitors Energy Management and Fire Monitoring systems. Informs residences, Maintenance, and other necessary personnel whenever a discrepancy is noted. Ensures appropriate adjustments are made as needed to meet Title XiX standards and documents accordingly.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This position is eligible for $0.50/hour shift differential on eligible shifts.

The position for this posting is located at Midlands Regional Center, an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities (ICF-IID) of BHDD-OIDD located in Columbia, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and one year of clerical experience; or an associate degree in secretarial science or a related field, or two years in clerical experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Requires a general knowledge of office practices and procedures. Sufficient knowledge of vocabulary to ensure accuracy in spelling. Must type 40 wpm. Must be familiar with a personal computer and general office equipment. Must be proficient in computer programs, particularly Excel and Word. Must possess good visual and communication skills, orally and in writing.

Immunization: If this position requires the applicant to work directly with consumers of The South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, tuberculosis (TB) skin or blood testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
