Job Summary

The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Campus Support Specialist on the Blue Ridge Campus. Reporting to the Program Manager in the Office of the Chief of Staff, the Campus Support Specialist serves as the principal administrative support for the assigned campus and provides critical administrative and program support to activities advancing university goals and strategic initiatives*. Act at the direction of university leadership with discretion and professionalism. Position requires exceptional organizational and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Campus Administrative Support: Support the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the campus. Work in collaboration with all campus-based leaders, faculty, and staff to ensure smooth campus-based operations.

Provide administrative and operational support to campus-based leaders, faculty, staff, and programs, which may include the following. Specific duties will vary by campus; purchasing and procurement of supplies and equipment, P-card management and reconciliation, travel and expense reimbursements, facility operational support such as maintaining facility locking system and records of keys and space assignments, campus-based space reservations, course/academic scheduling, staffing the reception area and main phone line to assist employees, students, and visitors, maintain inventory of campus office-supplies, maintain records and organize campus files, documents, and procedures, digital and directional signage maintenance, support assigned HR and business processes, supervise student employees (as assigned), assist with test proctoring as requested.

Maintain professional, technical, and operational knowledge to support the assigned administrative functions and monitor administrative and operational needs of the campus

  • Campus-based and Strategic Event Support: Support and assist in the planning of visits from external stakeholders and prospective students and families. Facilitate and support campus-based and cross-campus university events to support the strategy, advancement efforts, and community-engagement activities. Coordinate facility, catering, custodial, location set-up, audiovisual, concessions, safety, security, photography, and personnel needs for each community related event. Tracks, monitors expenses for events and prepares reports as needed.
  • Program/Project Administrative Support: Coordinate and provide administrative support to the Campus Co-Leads, and the Program Manager for Strategic Initiatives as directed, to include scheduling meetings, gathering appropriate documents, developing agendas, and maintaining electronic files and collaboration spaces. Support and coordinate communications, including digital and social media, as directed. Collaborate with team members across all campuses to share information and meet project and goal deliverables.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of campus and general office policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of Office 365 and university-based systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal customers and external agencies.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends to support community events.
  • Must maintain highest degree of confidentiality.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of administrative support experience.

Proposed Salary

  • The proposed salary is: $21.20-$23.32 hour.
