This includes the management of our relationships across the globe with both the millions of merchants who accept American Express, as well as our partners in countries and territories that deliver card acceptance, issuance and innovation.

The American Express business has two core types of customers. The Card Members that use our cards to make purchases, and the businesses that accept them. In Global Merchant & Network Services, we primarily focus on the businesses that accept our cards. We bring together the businesses that manage and evolve the company's relationships with the millions of merchants around the world that accept American Express, as well as the team that runs the company's payment network and manages bank partnerships globally. What type of work can you expect to do at American Express during the 10-week internship?
Contribute to the product vision, strategy, and value proposition.
Understand customer paint points, customer journey, personas and be able to clearly articulate the product value proposition.
Conduct market and user research, identify market trends, and evaluate the competitive landscape to identify opportunities to further enhance the product value proposition.
Develop business cases articulating the quantitative and strategic business impact of a product or service
Collect and synthesize product data to drive actionable insights and steer the product strategy.
Partner with Delivery and Technology teams to groom, prioritize, and execute on the product backlog in an agile environment.
Drive product and/or feature adoption and engagement in partnership with cross-functional stakeholders, including development of marketing & servicing materials, and measuring impact post launch
Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., engineering, data, analytics, other product management teams, etc.) to deliver results as a cross-functional team.
