This position is an in-person role. Under the supervision of a manager or supervisor the intern learns the basic operational skills and professional development required to work in healthcare management. The intern will shadow leadership from different departments and perform assigned tasks in order to gather experience in different areas of operation within University of Virginia Health System. The intern may assist the Manager or Director with projects, events and work relevant to specific departmental needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Actively enrolled in a degree for Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or related area.
Experience: No experience required; relevant work experience healthcare or public health preferred
Licensure: None
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
The starting base rate for this role is $18.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate''s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
