Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP, a leading national law firm, seeks a Cannabis attorney with 4-6 years of experience to support our Phoenix office.
This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated attorney seeking career growth. You will be entrusted with significant responsibilities and a diverse, challenging caseload from the outset.
Position Requirements:
Must be admitted to the Arizona bar in good standing.
The ideal candidate will have regulatory & administrative code experience in the cannabis industry, to include:
Advising cannabis industry clients on regulatory and administrative code requirements applicable to adult-use recreational and medical cannabis businesses.
Preparing, managing, and submitting cannabis license applications, renewals, amendments, and related regulatory filings before state and local agencies.
Representing corporate and business interests in connection with cannabis operations, entity structuring, governance, transactions, and ongoing compliance obligations.
Counseling clients on real estate regulations and requirements affecting cannabis facilities, including zoning, land use, leasing, site selection, permitting, and operational restrictions.
Monitoring changes in cannabis laws, regulations, agency guidance, and administrative procedures, and advising clients on business impacts and compliance strategies.
Coordinating with business owners, investors, landlords, regulators, and other stakeholders to support compliant cannabis business operations.
Drafting and reviewing legal documents, correspondence, policies, and agreements related to cannabis licensing, operations, real estate, and regulatory compliance.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are essential
