The Tissue Culture Lab technician's job is critical to the day-to-day operations of the department. Technicians ensure that plant tissue culture work is done appropriately and in a timely manner to ensure optimal health and growth of the plants is aligned with the timeline of all upcoming Mother plant stock needs.The Tissue Culture Lab Technician is responsible for assisting in all plant tissue culture related tasks including but not limited to:Key Responsibilities:Perform routine subculturing of existing culture onto fresh media, following departments schedules to meet production targets.Apply aseptic technique at the laminar flow hood, keeping contamination rates within department standards.Preparation of media formulations.Maintain labeling, logging, and traceability for all cultures and media batches, per SOP's and compliance.Operate and maintain lab equipment: laminar flow hoods, autoclave, bead sterilizer, and pH meter.Assist in grinding and logging and tracking all plant waste material.Responsible for sterilizing workspaces, this includes cleaning dishes, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing weekly.Responsible for communicating any issues involving plant health, IPM concerns, and issues regarding faulty or broken equipment to propagation leads.Able to take directions and instructions to ensure quality and efficiency standards are met.Qualifications:Prior aseptic, laboratory, or tissue culture experience.Strong attention to detail and fine motor precision.Comfortable with high-volume, repetitive work that demands consistency.Basic computer and spreadsheet skills.Must be 21+ and able to pass a background check for a Massachusetts CCC agent registration.Physical Requirements:Sit or stand for extended periods (6 ½-8 hours per day)Work with arms extended to chest height or higher at the flow hood for prolonged periods.Perform repetitive hand and wrist motions.Lift and move up to 50 lbs.Required to work on a ladder after receiving proper trainingOccasional work in cultivation area with high heat (85 F), high humidity (75% RH) and airborne plant material.Able to work in an environment with kief in the air Schedule: M-F 7am-3:30pmBENEFITS50% discount on productMed card discount through Medwell!Ability to earn store credit for purchasesHealth, Dental, Vision availableAccident, Illness, Life and Pet insurance available at discounted ratesEAP offering legal, financial and mental health counseling at no cost to youFree pizza on Wednesdays!Weekly payroll each Friday!Sound healing and yoga classes bi-weekly on site!PTO & PSLOT when availableSanctuary celebrates diversity and is a proud equal opportunity employer.
