This is a part-time position with the City of Canton. An Employee in a part-time position may work up to twenty-nine hours a week and their schedule will be determined by the City. Employees in this position will be offered paid vacation, sick time, and a retirement plan.

This is an open examination. To be eligible for this examination, all applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or have a permanent residence card. Applicants must be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D, must be at least 18 years of age, and have a valid drivers license.
Job Description General Statement of Duties: An employee in this classification is responsible for performing calibration, maintenance, and repair of various types of instrumentation, control devices, and electrical equipment; this includes complex computers as required for the ongoing operations of the Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) facilities sufficient to meet applicable water quality criteria.
Distinguishing Features of the Class: Performs maintenance and repair functions as described in the above General Statement of Duties, including manual dexterity as needed to perform fine calibration of instruments and controls. Physical mobility required for walking, bending, and stooping to inspect equipment and instrumentation throughout the facilities and for occasionally lifting motors, fans, and heavy tools.

Waste Water Treatment incentive pay shall be paid to employee(s) in this classification provided the employee possesses a Class I, II, or III Certificate as issued by the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency, and is an employee of WRF.
Testing Information
Repeating an Exam: Per OAC Rule 123: 1-9-01, an applicant who has competed in a civil service examination cannot repeat that examination or take and examination for the same classification within FOUR MONTHS from the date of original examination, unless an alternative form of examination is given, or unless other standards are specific in the examination announcement.
Rating: Your name will be placed on a list of eligible candidates upon receiving a passing score. Once the list has been established, your name will remain on the list for a period of one (1) year.
