Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio is looking for a full-time Loss Prevention Security Specialist to work in our Canton Corporate Office.
In this role, you will monitor Loss Prevention systems to identify individuals or conditions that are creating loss to the agency. You will provide support to security staff and security operations at the community campus and across the agency to ensure security,
prevent damage to or loss of all agency assets.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Handle issues involving daily Loss Prevention and Security operations and bring larger issues to Supervisor of
Corporate Security and Environmental Services or Director of Facilities and Loss Prevention for assistance /
support. - Build strong relationships with Community Campus partners to ensure their security needs are met.
- Maintains the Burglar and Fire system call list and code audits for all locations.
- Investigates and works to resolve alarm calls for any troubles / actual alarms for the agency and report results to Supervisor of Corporate Security and Environmental Services and the Director of Facilities and Loss Prevention.
- Assist in investigations as directed.
- Assist the Director of Facilities and Loss Prevention with location audits and locker inspections.
- Assists in the setup and monitoring of covert surveillance systems when necessary.
- Proactively monitors and supports locations for signs of theft.
- Serves as a backup to the Supervisor of Corporate Security and Environmental Services.
- Reports to the Director of Facilities and Loss Prevention any incident which could result in injury or loss to the
agency or employees. - Maintains surveillance and case management files and systems.
- Writes reports of irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons
or unusual occurrences in ThinkLP. - Record and follow up on incident and accident reports submitted from all locations.
- Maintain confidentiality according to operating standards.
- Assist with new store openings, including security evaluations and camera installation.
- Seek professional training to stay up to date on best practices and laws.
- Follows all agency safety policies and guidelines. Actively participates with supervisor and team members to
address identified safety concerns. - Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D. College education preferred. Additional experience will
be considered in lieu of a degree. - Certification: Must be CPR and First Aid Certified or able to obtain in 60 days after hire. Must have
valid driver's license and automotive insurance, and regularly provide the agency with
proof of valid automotive insurance. Wicklander-Zulawski certification preferred or
must be able to obtain within twelve months after hire. - Work Conditions: Able to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time. Work in both indoor and
outdoor environments, with exposure to inclement weather and unpredictable crisis
situations. May have to defend self and/or others in confrontational situations. Must
be able to work a flexible schedule as agency needs dictate. Must be able to lift/carry
up to 20 pounds and walk approximately 60 feet. - Equipment: General office and phone systems, surveillance systems, POS systems
SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE/SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Exhibit self-confidence and remain calm in emergency situations; work under pressure.
- 2-4 years of experience with surveillance equipment setup and monitoring.
- Use personal judgment to assess situations (observe details) and determine best outcome.
- Arrange ideas, thoughts and information in a clear and concise manner.
- Proficient in written and oral communications.
