We are seeking to recruit a Capacity Building, HIS Support & Helpdesk Coordinator for Project AFGHS-P in Niger, a USG-funded (U.S. Department of State) project starting on 1 October 2026. This is a locally recruited position and does not include relocation assistance or expatriate benefits. Applicants must have the legal right to live and work in Niger.
Position Summary
The Capacity Building, HIS Support & Helpdesk Coordinator leads the transfer of skills and services to the Ministry. The position designs training curricula and competency assessment tools, establishes the MoH-owned national HIS helpdesk (levels N1/N2/N3, SOPs and service levels), transfers the national HIS e-learning platform to independent MSHP management, and verifies that trained staff apply their skills independently. The coordinator owns the milestone on the MoH-owned HIS helpdesk and e-learning capability.
Location: Niamey, Niger (with field travel to regions and districts)
Reports to: Country Lead - Niger (Project AFGHS-P)
Expected start: As soon as possible and no later than 31 October 2026
Key Responsibilities
Education Qualification
Masters degree (or bachelors degree with extensive experience) in public health, health informatics, education/training, information technology or a related discipline.
Knowledge and Experience
Languages
Fluency in French is required; working knowledge of English is required.
Other Desirable Skills
Patience, organization, pedagogy and capacity to work with multiple institutions.
