About the Opportunity

Private equity firms, holding companies, family offices, and long-term capital vehicles within our network may seek analytically strong Capital Allocation Analysts to support decisions around deploying capital across new investments, follow-on investments, debt paydowns, recapitalizations, and exits.

Individuals in roles like this work closely with senior investors to evaluate how capital is best allocated across the portfolio to maximize risk-adjusted returns. The role blends financial modeling, strategic analysis, portfolio optimization, and investment prioritization, offering exposure beyond individual deals to firm-wide capital strategy.

The work environment is typically lean and highly analytical, providing direct visibility into capital deployment decisions and portfolio construction.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Capital Allocation & Return Analysis

  • Evaluate capital deployment opportunities across new investments, follow-ons, add-ons, refinancings, and exits

  • Analyze expected IRRs, MOICs, cash-on-cash returns, and payback profiles across competing uses of capital

  • Compare risk-adjusted returns across investment alternatives to support capital prioritization

Financial Modeling & Scenario Analysis

  • Build and maintain models to assess capital allocation scenarios at both deal and portfolio levels

  • Perform sensitivity, downside, and liquidity analyses to evaluate capital preservation and return trade-offs

  • Analyze capital structure optimization, leverage levels, and refinancing opportunities

Portfolio-Level Strategy & Optimization

  • Support portfolio construction analysis, concentration limits, and diversification considerations

  • Track deployed vs. undeployed capital, reserves, and future funding obligations

  • Assist in evaluating timing decisions for exits, partial realizations, or redeployment of capital

Investment Committee & Decision Support

  • Prepare capital allocation materials, dashboards, and summaries for investment committee discussions

  • Synthesize financial and strategic insights into clear recommendations

  • Present data-backed perspectives on trade-offs between growth, risk, and liquidity

Ongoing Portfolio & Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor portfolio performance relative to underwriting assumptions

  • Support return attribution analysis and performance benchmarking

  • Assist with post-investment reviews to inform future capital allocation decisions

What Makes This Work Engaging

  • Direct involvement in how and where capital is deployed across a portfolio

  • Exposure to firm-level strategy beyond individual transactions

  • Close collaboration with senior investors and decision-makers

  • Accelerated learning in capital strategy, portfolio construction, and return optimization
