C# Application Developer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a C# Application Developer in Owego, NY for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role focuses on developing Windows-based GUI applications that interface with embedded systems, including FPGA platforms. You will work closely with hardware and embedded teams to build user-facing tools that control and configure advanced systems.

Required Skills

• Active Secret security clearance required
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 2–3 years of professional experience developing C# GUI applications (WinForms, WPF, .NET Core/5+)
• Experience designing and delivering user-facing GUI applications in production environments
• 1–3 years of experience working with embedded systems or hardware interfacing
• Strong understanding of software development best practices
• Ability to work onsite in Owego, NY

Preferred Skills

• Experience with embedded communication protocols (UART, SPI)
• Experience with bare-metal embedded programming (FPGA or similar platforms)
• Familiarity with hardware debugging tools such as JTAG
• Experience with UI/UX design and storyboarding tools (Visio, Rhapsody)
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of secure coding practices for embedded and GUI applications

What You’ll Do

• Design and develop Windows-based GUI applications using C#
• Interface GUI applications with embedded software running on FPGA hardware
• Build, compile, and execute applications on Windows workstations
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to integrate solutions
• Develop user interfaces that enable control and configuration of embedded systems
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code
• Support debugging, testing, and integration of software components
