We are currently seeking a Card and Parking Operations Technician to join the Parking Services team at South Dakota State University. This position plays an important role in supporting campus access and parking operations, helping to maintain smooth and efficient services across the university.

This position is located in Brookings, South Dakota.

Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and monitor campus door access control hardware and related systems
  • Ensure the Transact point-of-sale system is fully operational and supported
  • Serve as backup support to the Campus PCI Coordinator to help maintain PCI compliance standards
  • Provide backup support for Parking Services hardware, including troubleshooting and routine maintenance

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Card and door access systems
  • PCI compliance regulations
  • Point of sale (POS) operations
  • Parking gate and license plate recognition (LPR) hardware knowledge

Skill & Ability to:

  • Independently troubleshoot challenging systems
  • Interpret and apply PCI DSS requirements and institutional policies
  • Manage multiple projects, requests, and priorities simultaneously
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Exercise sound judgement

Required License:

Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
