Greater Iowa Credit Union is looking for a Credit Services Analyst I. The primary role of this position is to provide support related to, Debit and Credit Cards for the department, other credit union staff, and membership. This position also performs backup functions in other areas within Greater Iowa as needed. Card duties are to be performed in accordance with credit union regulatory and elevated servicing standards.
Location: 1509 Baltimore Drive. Ames, IA 50010
Hybrid work schedule. First 90 days in office for training. In office as needed to back up Payments Support Specialist after initial 90 days.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for credit, and debit card processing and member service functions such as reviewing daily reports, reissuing cards, closing cards and fielding questions from staff. Provides monthly card reports to GICU management on recurring basis with minimal supervisory support.
- Coordinates card dispute, fraud and chargeback processing for both debit and credit accounts. This includes developing a general understanding of Reg E/Z legal requirements as well as awareness of Visa/MasterCard chargeback rules.
- Engages with related GICU vendors for issue remediation and creating a deeper understanding of processing platforms. Participates with internal teams as needed for technology implementation and support for existing third-party partners and implementation of card related projects.
- Loads new and processes adjustments member credit card accounts as determined by loan originators and collections.
- Assists with applying credit card, loan payments and/or deposits on member accounts that come through mail. Complete the necessary forms for loan payoffs’ as needed. On occasion communicate with member to resolve issues or concerns.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- One year to three years of similar or related experience.
- A high school education or GED.
- Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
