About Us

Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

This position reports to the Card services Application Analyst I. The card Services Student Assistant is responsible for supporting the ITS department with all designated administrative and technology functions. Additionally, this position serves as the junior level technical support within Information Technology Services and for the Albany State University campus.

Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the first point of contact for students, faculty, staff and guests in person and by telephone
  • Assist with answering, routing, and screening calls
  • Assist with ID card production, including taking of pictures
  • Troubleshoot invalid transactions from cards
  • Troubleshoot inactive accounts in Transact
  • Assist in resolving meal plan/Dining Dollars issues
  • Work diligently in assisting students trying to pay for replacement cards
  • Encode ID cards with a Salto encoder
  • Check and test Salto access plan of a cardholder
  • Assist in resolving student/staff/faculty inability to use Dining Dollars
  • Set up and troubleshoot Datacard SD460 card printer
  • Use Bb MF4100 card reader to troubleshoot nonworking card
  • Set up and also test cloud POS connectivity on a Cash Register
  • Troubleshoot network issues on a Card printer, MF4100, and a Cash Register
  • Use Datacard Instant ID and Salto Spare Software
  • Direct unresolved issues to the proper next level of support.
  • Must have the ability to think critically with the capability to identify problems, using flexibility and adaptability while showing initiative and resourcefulness to deal with change.
  • Miscellaneous duties and responsibilities appropriate to position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current ASU Student
  • Good customer service orientation skills in general office administration and office organization.
  • GPA 2.5 or higher

Preferred Qualifications

  • Sophomore Business/Computer Science Major
  • GPA 3.0 or higher
  • Potential to work the following semester

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; as well as familiarity with office practices.

  • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
