Employment Type: Full Time

Shifts Available: Nights

Hours: 12-Hour shifts - 7:00pm - 7:00am

Location: St. Joseph Medical Center – Kansas City, MO


We are seeking a 
Cardiac Care CNA, also referred to as a Cardiology Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Cardiology CNA or Cardiac CNA. Our Cardiac Care CNA will work in our Coronary Care Unit (CCU) supporting critically ill cardiac patients. Skilled in high-acuity patient care, continuous monitoring support, and rapid communication with the healthcare team to promote patient safety and positive outcomes in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care for critically ill cardiac patients, including post–myocardial infarction and post–cardiac procedure patients, ensuring comfort, safety, and dignity 
  • Obtain and documented frequent vital signs, intake/output, and patient observations, promptly reporting abnormal findings to nursing staff 
  • Support continuous cardiac monitoring by maintaining telemetry equipment and immediately alerting RNs to rhythm changes or monitor alarms 
  • Assist with patient repositioning, mobility, and hygiene while managing lines, tubes, and invasive equipment safely during care activities 
  • Collaborate effectively with RNs and the interdisciplinary team during rapid responses and code situations, maintaining a calm and organized care environment 
Qualifications:
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire, required
  • Current BLS within 30 days of hire and maintain current
  • Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Minimum six months’ previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred
