The Cardiac Cath Lab/Electrophysiology APP provides comprehensive cardiovascular care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath and electrophysiology procedures. A variety of skills are used to educate, consult, and manage the cardiac cath and/or electrophysiology patient population and assist the patient/family, the patient care team, and physicians. This role promotes high-quality, evidence-based care while supporting operational efficiency, patient throughput, and clinical outcomes within the Cardiac Cath Lab and associated inpatient/outpatient setting while working collaboratively with the health care team. Which includes interventional cardiologists, electrophysiologists, anesthesiologists, and other physicians involved in the patient’s care, nurses, case management, and with departments affecting the care of the cardiac cath/electrophysiology patient. Must demonstrate strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent team building and problem-solving skills, and a strong ability to take initiative and drive improvement.

The compensation range for the role is $51.11- 63.89 USD hourly. 

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.   The range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.  When determining a team member’s compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity)

Minimum Education:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant Program or Nurse Practitioner Program required.

Minimum Experience:

• Three years of professional nursing or Physician Assistant experience in a clinical setting. Previous cardiac experience preferred.

Required Certification/Registration:

• DEA Registration
• Current and ongoing license as a Professional Nurse AND Nurse Practitioner by the State of New York.
• Must have current and ongoing National Board Certification (FNP-BC, AANP, NCCPA)
• Current BLS required at hire or transfer until ACLS obtained. BLS renewal not required once ACLS is obtained
• ACLS preferred upon hire or must be obtained within first 90 days of employment.

Physical Requirements:

• Standing and walking most of the shift; moving patients and equipment. Mobility required. Visual acuity required for typing, reading, filing, and using the computer
• Visual acuity required for typing, reading, filing, and using the computer.

Working Conditions:

• Environmental Demands and Exposure to Hazards: Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility.  No routine exposure to hazards.
• For Remote and Hybrid Remote positions:   If deemed operationally necessary, position may be required to report in and work on-site.
• Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks. Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment. Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking. Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, to work well under pressure, to organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility. Ability to multi-task. Required detailed attention to work in an environment where interruptions cannot be controlled. Demonstrates sensitivity to customer needs and expectations. May be subject to irregular hours including evenings or potentially weekends to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
