Job Summary and Qualifications

The CCT is an individual who after comprehensive training is qualified to assist patient on to examination table and prepare patient for procedure. The cath lab tech monitors the patient's vital signs and alerts the doctor of any problems. They are to assist in cases as a circulator, monitor, or transporter. Duties also require them to restock supplies, prepare and disinfect rooms prior to and between cases. Cath lab techs are trained in emergency procedures, such as the use of a crash cart to resuscitate patients if needed.

What you will do in this role:

  • Demonstrates proper use of diagnostic/interventional radiographic equipment.
  • Applies sterile technique in radiological procedures.
  • Possesses knowledge of and demonstrates proper documentation in MacLab/CardioLab and Meditech Systems.
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret / recognize heart dysrythmias and must be BCLS Certified.
  • Adheres to Infection Control Policies.
  • Demonstrates proper usage and handling of defibrillator.
  • Delivers safe and effective direct patient care at all times.
  • Recognizes department specific equipment and assists in the proper daily maintenance of department equipment.
  • Pursues educational opportunities which enhance knowledge and skills in regard to position, as well as maintains certifications and validations. 

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
  • (ARRT-VI) Vascular Interventional Radiography, or (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer
  • Previous Cardiac Cath and/or Special Procedures training required.
