Cardiac Electrophysiologist – Our Organization

Full-Time | Main Hospital Campus (Arlington, VA)

Our organization is in search of a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Cardiac Electrophysiologist to enhance our well-established cardiovascular program at the main hospital campus located in Arlington, Virginia. This is a full-time, employed attending physician role that provides the chance to deliver high-quality, patient-focused electrophysiology within a collaborative, community-oriented health system in Northern Virginia.

Position Overview

The chosen physician will deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient cardiac electrophysiology services, focusing on the assessment and management of patients with intricate cardiac arrhythmias. The Electrophysiologist will collaborate closely with general cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, advanced practice providers, nursing staff, and cardiovascular support teams to ensure coordinated, evidence-based care.

This position offers a well-rounded combination of procedural and clinical responsibilities within a contemporary cardiovascular program backed by robust institutional support.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients experiencing atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular arrhythmias, syncope, and conduction disorders.
  • Conduct diagnostic electrophysiology studies and catheter ablation procedures for both atrial and ventricular arrhythmias.
  • Implant and oversee cardiac implantable electronic devices, such as pacemakers, ICDs, and cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices.
  • Provide outpatient electrophysiology consultations and ongoing follow-up care.
  • Conduct inpatient electrophysiology consultations and procedural care as necessary.
  • Interpret ambulatory monitoring studies and device interrogations.
  • Engage in shared call coverage with colleagues in cardiology and electrophysiology.
  • Document all clinical activities in the electronic medical record while adhering to best practice guidelines.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Cardiology fellowship.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
  • Eligibility for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.
  • Strong clinical abilities with a focus on patient-centered care and teamwork.
