Job Summary:
To perform radiologic and other imaging procedures to produce images of the body for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries and interventional procedures, while ensuring optimum patient care and safety.
Education & Experience
Certifications, Licenses, or Registration required:
Medical Radiologic Technologist license from the Mississippi State Department of Health. Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association required post-hire within 90 days. Radiography (R) from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Preferred Qualifications:
Vascular Interventional Technologist (VI) or Cardiac Interventional Technologist (CI) from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, imaging, sterile techniques, and fluoroscopy equipment. Skill in the use of imaging equipment. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to comply with radiation protection practices. Ability to alleviate patient anxiety.

Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, constant handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, constant exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, constant work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, constant bending, occasional lifting and carrying more than 100 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, constant crouching/stooping, frequent kneeling, frequent pushing/pulling, constant reaching, frequent sitting, frequent standing, frequent twisting, and frequent walking.
