Responsibilities/Job Description:

The Cardiac Sonography Technologist has vast knowledge and skills to perform Adult Echocardiograms as well as Stress Echocardiograms independent of cardiologist supervision. Other cardiac areas of expertise are a plus including Pediatric Echo. The employee has an advance understanding of imaging techniques, disease processes, and is able to interpret qualitative and quantitative data as it pertains to the exam. Provide leadership to prioritize work flow, reexamine questionable data, modify protocols, document findings, and evaluate staff competency. Willingness to work independently at multiple locations and follow policies and procedures of each site.

Responsibilities

• Performs Examinations
• Applies advanced understanding of imaging techniques, disease processes and application of quantitative formulas and data during procedures.
• Reexamines questionable data
• Performs exams with technical accuracy and in a timely manner
• Identifies anatomical orientation on all required images
• Completes communication of pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the exam
• Positions patient appropriately to achieve quality diagnostic images.
• Verifies patient identification and documentation
• Communicates with and educates the patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the exam
• Ensures patient date integrity
• Accurately completes computer functions; editing, billing, status changes, etc.
• Accurate digital image manipulation and archiving
• Participates as an active team member
• Orients and mentors new employees
• Participates in improvement initiatives
• Responsible for personal and professional development to ensure current knowledge required for position
• Cleans and maintains patient areas, supplies and equipment

Required Qualifications

• Must be eligible for registration with RDCS or RDMS
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience adult sonography
• RDCS or RDMS certified

 

Qualifications:

$45.80- $66.16 Hourly
