Missouri Baptist Medical Center , an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital.

The Missouri Baptist Medical Center Cardiac Testing department is a diagnostic testing center which focuses on identifying and evaluating cardiac disease processes. The department is comprised of RNs, cardiac sonographers, ECG techs, Nuclear Medicine technologists and administrative staff. The Cardiac Testing staff works in collaboration with Cardiologists to deliver high quality services to patients and their physicians.



Preferred Qualifications


Role Purpose



In partnership with department leadership, responsible for supervising the technical and clinical operations of the echocardiography lab, management of cardiac sonographers, and oversight of Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) accreditation process and adherence to related American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) standards and other regulatory requirements.






Responsibilities



+ Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

+ Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

+ Monitors and organizes department resources to maximize productivity and ensure optimal patient outcomes.

+ Ensures department’s readiness/preparedness for all regulatory body inspections or certifications (i.e., TJC, State, ACR, ICCS, etc.)

+ Serves as Technical Director for Intersocietal Accreditation Commission for echocardiography lab accreditation and provides technical feedback and quality review of studies for cardiac sonography performance, development, and growth of services.

+ Serves as a technical expert for the department, developing and implementing imaging protocols for the various types of cardiac imaging exams. Performs complex echocardiography as needed.

+ BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
