What You’ll Do:
Provide inpatient cardiology care, including rounding with a team of APPs and interpreting echocardiograms and EKGs
Manage adult patients presenting with chest pain, heart failure, arrhythmias, and hypertension
Conduct and interpret stress tests, Holter monitors, and other non-invasive diagnostics
Collaborate with intensivists, nurses, and technicians in a multidisciplinary team
Take scheduled call shifts, including one weeknight and one weekend night, with on-call duties until 6:00 PM and 6:00 AM respectively
Support clinic activities during weekdays, including follow-up visits and consults
Contribute to patient education and care planning in a supportive environment
What You Need:
Board Certified in Cardiology (MD/DO) required
Fellowship in General Cardiology; Cardiac Imaging preferred
Wisconsin State Medical License or willingness to obtain
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in cardiology with inpatient and ECHO interpretation skills
Key skills include adult cardiology, teamwork, and adaptability
Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, DEA
About the Assignment: Work within a supportive team providing general cardiology inpatient services with ECHO and EKG interpretation for adult patients. The role involves a balanced mix of clinical care, diagnostics, and collaborative rounding in a Level II trauma hospital. Support staff includes APPs, intensivists, nurses, and technicians, ensuring comprehensive patient care. Rounding occurs with a dedicated team, and the workload varies from 7 to 22 patients daily depending on the day. You will be involved in outpatient follow-up and consults during scheduled clinic hours, with an emphasis on consult-based inpatient care. Credentialing can be completed within 90 days, and orientation includes EMR onboarding.
