Our Structural Heart Program continues to expand, performing high volumes of TAVR, Watchman, and other complex interventional cardiac procedures. As our service line grows, we are seeking a dedicated and experienced Advanced Practice Provider to join our team and help support our patients across the continuum of structural heart care.
Position Overview:
We are seeking to recruit a part time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with strong cardiology or cardiac surgery experience, preferably in structural heart or interventional cardiology to support our growing Structural Heart Program at St. Josephs Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
This is a daytime, Monday-Friday role:
- 8-hour shifts
- No weekends
- No evenings
- No call
The APP will work closely with cardiac surgeons, interventional cardiologists, and the multidisciplinary heart team, providing comprehensive clinical support in the hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Structural Heart Program, including coordination and management of TAVR and Watchman patients
- Staff and manage the TAVR Clinic, including pre- and post-procedure evaluations
- Assist Interventional Cardiology with structural heart workflows and patient optimization
- Conduct pre-admission testing and ensure procedural readiness
- Round on patients on the cardiac floor, including assessment, follow up, and discharge planning
- Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, nursing, imaging, and cath lab teams
- Participate in patient education and ongoing interdisciplinary program development
Qualifications:
Required:
- Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license (NY State or eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Cardiology, preferably interventional or structural heart, or cardiac surgery
- Strong clinical assessment, procedural readiness, and care coordination skills
- Ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative, fast paced environment

Compensation:
- Competitive salary range: $62,266- $73,459 based on experience
- Starting Bonus: $2,500
- Salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, quality incentives, or other forms of cash compensation. Final compensation may vary based on experience, training, and market factors in accordance with State law.
