Work Schedule: 
 One weekend call per month and weekday call 2 weeks per month. Call is 7am-7am approximately 12 per month. Clinic (6-7 consults per day, at least one day per week in clinic) Hospital 4-6 patients per day. 
Patient Volume: 
6-7 clinic, 4-6 Hospital patients 
Procedures:
 
 CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracic, vascular, carotid, TAVR, TCAR and endo AAA

License Needed:
 (IMLC or standard process)? “Licensure must be fully active prior to start; candidates in process will be considered on a case-by-case basis.”
Certifications Needed: 
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery

• Completion of accredited Cardiothoracic Surgery residency/fellowship
• Eligibility for or active [Kansas] medical license
• BLS and ACLS certification • DEA registration
Relevant Experience/Skill Set Needed: 
 Experience with adult cardiac surgery required; additional experience with thoracic or vascular procedures preferred 
Other additional pertinent information:
  • Available support staff: Clinic staff = 1 RN 1 LPN 1 MA APPs = 5

  • Minimum 6 months, least 2 weeks a month that includes weekdays • FTE expectation: Locum 2 weeks a month requested (willing to consider more or less) • Call requirements: Shared CTS call coverage (details to be specified – e.g., 1:3 or 1:4 rotation)

  •  Primarily inpatient with OR and clinic responsibilities • Program: Established or growing Cardiothoracic Surgery program within Cardiovascular Service Line • Team structure: Surgeons, APP support (NP/PA), perfusionists, dedicated OR and CVICU teams • Case mix: CABG, valve, and other adult cardiac procedures; vascular, thoracic and TAVR, etc. • Call expectations and weekend coverage defined by program needs

  • Ideal Candidate Description: • Strong technical proficiency in adult cardiac surgery (CABG, valve, open procedures) • Collaborative, team-oriented approach with surgeons, APPs, anesthesia, and ICU teams - • Commitment to patient safety, quality outcomes, and HRO principles • Ability to work in a developing or growing CTS program environment with potential need to assist with APP education • Effective communication and leadership within multidisciplinary care teams • Interest in clinical program development, quality improvement, and long-term service line growth
