About the Facility This Level 1 trauma facility provides comprehensive inpatient cardiothoracic surgical services with established protocols for quality patient care delivery. The medical center utilizes the EPIC EMR system for documentation and care coordination. The facility maintains modern surgical equipment and support systems, serving a broad patient population. About the Facility Location Connecticut offers a range of attractions, including Mystic Seaport Museum, Foxwoods Resort Casino, and state parks, alongside outdoor pursuits such as kayaking, ziplining, and scenic nature trails. Clinicians on assignment will find options for cultural engagement through visual arts, breweries, distilleries, and wineries, as well as year-round fairs, festivals, concerts, and family-oriented activities. Boat cruises, city tours, and group excursions are also available throughout the region. About the Clinician's Workday The physician associate will provide cardiothoracic surgery coverage during Monday through Friday 8-hour day shifts across clinic and OR settings, with call responsibilities as required. The clinician will manage an average of 10 patients per day in an inpatient setting, operating autonomously without a supervising physician on site. All clinical documentation must be maintained through the EPIC EMR system for patient encounters and surgical procedures. Board certification is required for this assignment.
