Job Title: Cath-Lab Nurse Location: Anchorage, AK Job Summary:
As a highly-skilled and compassionate Cath-Lab Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in our client's healthcare team, providing assistance in invasive cardiac, vascular, and interventional procedures. Perform and oversee all testing and therapeutics within the Cath lab, including cardiac catheterizations, coronary interventions, EP device and ablation therapies, interventional radiology, neuro diagnostic/interventions, endovascular procedures, and structural heart procedures (e.g., LAAC, TAVR).
Facilitate effective communication among departmental staff, ensuring an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to patient care. Utilize appropriate SBAR process for hand-off communication.
Assist patients throughout procedures, managing tasks such as transport, site preparation, sterile procedures, patient monitoring, hemostasis post-catheter/sheath removal, and facilitating the return to the patient's room. Handle emergent cases.
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant patient records. Complete all necessary paperwork associated with procedures and prepare tests for physician interpretation.
Demonstrate flexibility, organizational skills, and the ability to function well under stressful situations.
Collaborate with team members and provide orientation as needed.
Qualifications:
Current nursing license in good standing.
Associate's Degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree preferred.
Two to three years of Cath Lab experience. Emergency Room/ICU experience is advantageous.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certified (ACLS).
Additional Requirements:
Shift times: 7a - 7:30p (12 hr shifts).
Must have experience - RN and AK lic required.
3 years of experience in Cath Lab or 5 years in a high acuity setting (e.g., ICU).
Experience in circulating, monitoring, and administering sedation medication, including the mixing of sedation drips.
No mapping experience needed (performed by a third-party company).
Unit Beds/Rooms: 3 rooms, average 4-6 procedures per day.
Pay Range: $38.79 - $56.74 per hour
