Local: $75.00 - $80.00/hour
Traveler: $80.00 - $83.00/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technologist to assist physicians with invasive cardiac and peripheral diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including pacemaker placement and circulatory-support procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience; 2 years preferred
• Acute-care Cardiac Cath Lab or invasive procedure experience
• Graduate of an accredited CVT, Radiologic Technology, or Applied Science program
• Clinical experience through an accredited CVT program or equivalent
• Experience with invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures
• Impella and IABP experience required
• Hemodynamic monitoring experience
• Sterile operative technique experience
• Cardiac arrhythmia recognition and interpretation
• AHA BLS certification
• ACLS certification within 3 months of employment
• RCIS through CCI or Radiologic Technologist License within 1 year
• Radiology certification required
• Strong computer and communication skills
• English proficiency
• Ability to meet physical requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience
• Permanent pacemaker experience
• EPIC experience
• ARRT certification
• New Jersey Radiologic Technologist license
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a health science field

Responsibilities

• Assist with invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures
• Assist with temporary and permanent pacemaker placement
• Assist with Impella and IABP procedures
• Prepare sterile trays, equipment, and supplies
• Position and prepare patients
• Calibrate and test transducers
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Operate power injectors and sterile support equipment
• Operate procedure table controls
• Calibrate hemodynamic monitoring equipment
• Calculate and document cardiac output and oximetry readings
• Operate and maintain digital cine technology
• Assist with vascular access, sheath removal, radial access banding, and closure devices
• Recognize and interpret cardiac arrhythmias
• Assist with inventory and equipment preparation
• Follow CVIS requirements and departmental protocols
• Maintain equipment and participate in routine maintenance
• Participate in required Cath Lab on-call responsibilities
• Follow radiation-safety and organizational standards
• Provide patient-centered care
