A 229-bed acute care facility in Port St. Lucie, Florida is seeking a Cardiovascular/Cath Lab Technician to join its cardiac catheterization laboratory team. The hospital is accredited by the Joint Commission, holds designations as a Certified Primary Stroke Center and an American College of Cardiology accredited Chest Pain Center, and offers a cardiac catheterization lab, minimally-invasive and robotic surgery, and a full range of specialty services. This is a full-time, on-site position with a daytime schedule.

Working alongside cardiologists and radiologists in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab, the Cardiovascular Technician assists in the performance of invasive procedures while maintaining a safe patient environment. Core responsibilities include monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating duties across all procedure types within the RT/CVT scope of practice. The technician operates imaging and cath lab equipment safely, adheres to ALARA standards, and stays current on evolving procedures, equipment, and exam protocols. Managing supply inventory at acceptable levels is also part of the day-to-day workflow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist cardiologists and radiologists in performing invasive cardiac procedures
  • Perform monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating duties across all cath lab procedure types
  • Operate imaging and cath lab equipment safely and in accordance with established protocols
  • Adhere to ALARA radiation safety standards at all times
  • Maintain knowledge of evolving procedures, equipment, and examination protocols
  • Ensure a safe and organized patient environment throughout each procedure
  • Manage supply inventory and maintain acceptable stock levels within the lab
  • Function within the full RT/CVT scope of practice across all assigned procedures

Qualifications

  • Education from a school of Cardiovascular Technology required
  • CVT/RCIS or ARRT credential required
  • Current Basic Life Support certification as a Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association required
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification as a Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association required
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience as a Cardiovascular Technician or experienced ARRT required

Schedule

  • Full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
  • Approximately 10 on-call shifts per month
