Cardiovascular & Electrophysiology Specialist

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cardiovascular & Electrophysiology Specialist to join a dynamic Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology team. In this role, you will provide specialized clinical support during invasive cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures, working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate is experienced in procedural settings, possesses strong critical-thinking skills, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Assignment Details

• Employment Type: Direct Hire

• Schedule: Full-Time

• Shift Options:

  • 10-hour shifts: Four weekdays (Monday–Friday), typically 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM

  • 12-hour shifts: Two weekdays and one weekend day, typically 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Invasive Cardiovascular & Electrophysiology Procedures

• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular and electrophysiology procedures.

• Perform procedural responsibilities including scrubbing, circulating, and hemodynamic monitoring.

• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and patients for invasive procedures.

• Administer medications under physician supervision and according to established protocols.

• Continuously monitor patient condition and respond promptly to changes during procedures.

• Accurately document patient assessments, procedural events, and clinical information in the medical record.

Patient Care

• Deliver patient-centered care using evidence-based clinical practices.

• Promote patient comfort, safety, and well-being throughout the procedural experience.

• Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.

• Interpret clinical data and assist with patient management decisions during procedures.

Quality & Professional Practice

• Participate in the development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and standards of care.

• Support quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice.

• Contribute to departmental committees, governance activities, and continuing education whenever possible.

• Maintain competency in invasive cardiovascular procedures and related technologies.

Required Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Graduation from an accredited program in one of the following:

  • Cardiovascular Technology

  • Cardiopulmonary Technology

  • Radiologic Technology

  • Respiratory Therapy

  • Another related Allied Health discipline

One of the following is also required:

• Graduation from a Cardiovascular Interventional Program, or

• Minimum of two years of experience as a Cardiovascular Specialist.

Experience

• Training or experience in Invasive Cardiovascular and/or Electrophysiology procedures preferred.

• Experience in a procedural laboratory environment is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory experience.

• Electrophysiology (EP) Laboratory experience.

• Procedural or Operating Room (OR) experience.

• Experience with invasive hemodynamic monitoring and cardiovascular equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while wearing 10–20 pounds of radiation protective lead apparel.

• Ability to lift and assist with moving patients, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.

• Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, stooping, and prolonged standing.

• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

• Ability to work safely in an environment with potential exposure to radiation, blood, bodily fluids, and other clinical hazards while following established safety protocols.
