The Cardiovascular Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic testing and assists with interventional procedures according to established departmental procedures ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. Diagnostic testing includes X-ray and interventional procedures. This position supports diagnostic and interventional procedures in Cardiac Catheterization and Electrophysiology Labs. This position may support coronary and peripheral interventions closure device implants electrophysiology studies ablations and device implants.The Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment including peripheral equipment in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet quality patient care standards. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member. This position supports the Interventionalist by scrubbing in during the procedure as well as computerized documentation of the events of the procedure. On Call is a requirement of this position.This position actively participates in and supports preceptoring of new employees or clinical education activities where applicable.This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation.QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATIONGraduate of an accredited radiological technologist school requiredLICENSECERTIFICATIONLicensed by the State of NJ Department of Environmental Protection NJDEP requiredRegistered as American Registry of Radiology Technologist in Radiography ARRTR requiredBLS for Healthcare Providers requiredACLS is required within 12 months from date of hire or transfer.EXPERIENCE1-2 years interventional cardiology experience preferred.
