Job Title: Cardiovascular Technician (Contract)
Location: New York, NY 10025
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Day Shift (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Hours: 40 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks (with strong potential for extension or permanent placement)
Pay Rate: $3,000 – $3,331 weekly (competitive travel package)


Position Overview

A healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Cardiovascular Technician to support its Cardiac Catheterization Lab on a 13-week contract assignment. The role involves assisting physicians during interventional cardiac procedures, monitoring hemodynamic data, operating specialized cath lab equipment, and ensuring accurate procedural documentation.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient in cardiovascular procedures, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity clinical environment. RCIS certification is preferred.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor patient blood pressure and report deviations from baseline to the physician
  • Interpret intracardiac pressures and track catheter placement during procedures
  • Record and document hemodynamic data across cardiac chambers as required
  • Maintain accurate and complete procedural documentation using cath lab systems
  • Operate and calibrate cardiovascular equipment (e.g., ACT machines, cardiac output systems)
  • Assist physicians by providing catheters, guidewires, balloons, and stents during procedures
  • Set up, calibrate, and monitor intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) systems
  • Operate power injectors for contrast dye administration
  • Prepare sterile fields and ensure cath lab readiness prior to procedures
  • Assist during emergency situations, including defibrillation and resuscitation support
  • Support patient transport between procedural and inpatient units
  • Maintain supply inventory and report equipment issues or shortages
  • Assist in the implementation of new cath lab technologies and protocols

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Experience in a cardiovascular or cardiac catheterization lab preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude with attention to detail
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • RCIS certification preferred
  • Prior experience in a cath lab or interventional cardiology setting
  • Familiarity with advanced cardiac devices and imaging technologies
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure clinical environments
