Summary/Objective
The Cardiovascular Technologist is responsible for the provision of radiological services of a highly specialized nature to patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab in accordance with physicians orders. The Cardiovascular Technologist provides for patient safety and high quality testing.

- Assists physicians in the administration of Cardiac Cath Lab examinations within scope of practice of Technologist and maintains safety precautions to minimize radiation exposure to patients, other personnel, and self.
- Proficient in utilization of hemodynamic monitoring equipment to provide for electrocardiographic monitoring and hemodynamic pressure monitoring.
- Facilitates departmental operations through completion of all patient logs, charge requisitions, and other paper work and in quality control and performance improvement activities in the Department.
- Participates in rotating call system as needed to provide continuous availability of services.
- Assists in the maintenance of all equipment in the Cardiac Cath Lab including cleaning and minor repairs.
- Maintains own proficiency through the utilization of in-service programs, workshops, seminars, and other self-directed learning activities. Attends all mandated safety programs or in-services to maintain a working knowledge of appropriate precautions and actions to be initiated during the execution of duties.
Required Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program
Required License/Certifications
- Current certification with American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) within 90 days
- Must be licensed by the Texas Medical Board (TMB)
- BLS Certification within 30 days of hire
