Qualifications and Skills

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience required
1–3 years in call center, customer service, healthcare support, patient access, pharmacy support, or similar environment preferred
Strong data entry and documentation skills; comfortable with CRM/case management systems
Experience with insurance coverage questions, pharmacy benefits, benefit verification, referrals, or enrollment workflows preferred
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer basics preferred
Strong communication, de-escalation, and problem-solving skills; professional phone presence
Ability to prioritize, multitask, and stay accurate in a production environment
Dedicated, quiet workspace + reliable high-speed internet (hardwired; no satellite/cellular/WiFi-only)

Handle inbound/outbound calls; identify needs and drive one-call resolution
Create, complete, and update referrals, applications, and enrollments; follow policy/procedure changes
Investigate and resolve patient, caregiver, and provider office inquiries with urgency and professionalism
Enter detailed information into systems while actively on the phone (talk + type + navigate multiple screens)
Place outbound calls for follow-ups, confirmations, missing information, and next steps
Support adverse event reporting within required timeframes
Steward patient accounts from initial contact through approval/denial; manage multiple cases at once
Maintain quality, HIPAA awareness, and accurate documentation throughout the workflow
