Career Operations Assistant -- Student Worker 2026-2027
Summary of Responsibilities
Assist front desk operations with administrative needs related to student traffic, calls and projects
Collaborate with all members of student and full-time staff within TCNJ Career Center to ensure adequate coverage of front desk, calls are handled, and any incoming student inquiry is addressed in a timely manner
Support program implementation for events such as career fairs, networking events, networking events, and education interview days
Assist with data entry as needed, such as event attendance, appointment check-ins, and surveys
Supporting on campus interview programs and interview suite reservations.
Assist with maintaining employer contact database via Handshake
Assist in management of resources for main office space, including handouts, stocked equipment and clean surfaces in alignment with guidelines for in-person campus presence
Answer common questions tied to Handshake, career programs and services, appointment scheduling, and other time-sensitive items through academic year: Avery, WordPress, Canva, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, and Accessibility Checkers
Ability to manage, assist, and complete projects effectively and efficiently
Learning Outcomes
Develop effective oral and written communication skills by greeting visitors, managing phone inquiries, and addressing student and employer questions regarding Handshake, appointments, and Career Center services in a professional and timely manner.
Build technical proficiency in key operational tools-including Handshake, WordPress, Canva, accessibility checkers, and office suites-by managing data entry, updating employer records, maintaining resource materials, and troubleshooting common user questions.
Strengthen teamwork and professional reliability by collaborating across full-time and student staff to maintain seamless front desk coverage, manage office physical resources, and deliver on individual project deadlines.
Required Qualifications
GPA 3.0 or higher
Current freshman, sophomore, or junior
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite
Demonstrated interest in general office management and ability to multitask
Knowledge in Canva, Wordpress
