Position Summary
The Career Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enhancing the career readiness of students. The Career Coordinator is expected to provide personalized guidance, resources, and support to assist students in preparing for successful and meaningful careers. The Career Coordinator serves as a liaison with area businesses and industries to help promote the programs offered at the college and expand work-based learning and employment opportunities. The Career Coordinator will provide one-on-one and group training opportunities for all aspects of career services to ensure students have the opportunity and skills to obtain a high-wage/high-demand job.
Salary Commensurate with education and experience according to ACCS Board of Trustees Salary Schedule C3.
Grant-Funded (ACCS Board of Trustees Salary Schedule C3, $50,000 annually). Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. This is a non-tenure track position. Non-Probationary Status cannot be obtained.

Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Counseling, Human Resources, Education, Business, Career and Technical Education, or a related field from an accredited institution is required.
Experience working in a community college environment preferred.
Experience in career services, student affairs, workforce development, or a related field preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills required.
Proficiency with career development tools and technologies preferred.
Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with diverse student populations, faculty, and external stakeholders preferred.
Knowledge of career development theory, student development practices, and current labor market trends.
Ability to design, implement, and assess effective career readiness programs.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines required.
Skill in using career assessment tools, data reporting systems, and HR/employment platforms preferred.
Ability to work collaboratively across academic and administrative departments required.
Commitment to supporting diverse populations and promoting an inclusive career development environment is required.

Sick Leave
All regular full-time non-instructional staff earns one day of sick leave which is the equivalent of 8 hours of sick leave per month. Unused sick leave is rolled over to the following year. Upon retirement, employees are allowed to convert unused sick time into service time for the purpose of retirement. Retirement
The TRS was established in 1939 to provide benefits to qualified persons employed by state-supported educational institutions. Responsibility for the management and administration of the TRS is vested in its Board of Control. The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA. All regular full-time and part-time employees (non-temporary and non- student) who work at least 20 hours per week are required to participate in The Teachers Retirement System of Alabama.

PEEHIP, established in 1983, provides health insurance benefits for active and retired education employees and is governed by the PEEHIP Board of Control. Tobacco Usage Premium
The tobacco premium applies only to the PEEHIP Hospital Medical and VIVA Health plans. Refer to the Wellness Program section to learn how you and/or your spouse can receive the non-tobacco user discount.
Wellness Premium
The wellness premium applies only to the Blue Cross Blue Shield Hospital Medical Group #14000 plan for non-Medicare eligible active and retired members, non-Medicare-eligible members on LOA or COBRA, and non-Medicare-eligible spouses on active or retired contracts. Refer to the Wellness Program section to learn how you and/or your spouse can receive a wellness premium waiver.
If desired, the employee may elect four options rather than health insurance options to include hospital indemnity, cancer, dental, and vision.

Tuition Assistance
This tuition waiver program is designed for all full-time instructional and non-instructional employees of The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education and their dependents as defined under by policy. The program will be coordinated by each institution for employees within The Alabama College System and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. An application form for the tuition assistance program is available in the Human Resources office and should be completed prior to registration for classes.
