The Career Services Manager, Internships & Career Programs coordinates and advances internship, experiential learning, employer engagement, and career programming initiatives. Working in collaboration with the Director of Career Services, the Career Services Manager develops and administers career-connected learning opportunities, maintains relationships with employers and faculty, and delivers programs that prepare undergraduate and graduate students for internships, employment, graduate education, and other post-graduation opportunities.
The position also serves as the primary Career Services liaison to the Chicago College of Performing Arts (CCPA), provides targeted career advising, supervises assigned student and/or graduate employees, and contributes to departmental and University wide career readiness initiatives. The role manages an assigned portfolio of programs, partnerships, and operational processes within established departmental priorities, policies, and goals, while recommending improvements in collaboration with the Director of Career Services.

The salary range for this position is $60,000-$62,000

Years of Experience Required 2-4 Required Education Bachelor's Degree Certification/Licensure Required Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, education, business, communications, human resources, marketing, arts administration, or a related field.
- Two to four years of progressively responsible professional experience in career services, internships, experiential learning, employer relations, higher education, workforce development, business development, recruiting, or a related area.
- Experience managing or independently coordinating internship, experiential learning, career readiness, employer engagement, or career development programs and partnerships.
- Experience building and maintaining relationships with employers, faculty, academic leadership, alumni, community partners, professional associations, or other stakeholders.
- Experience working directly with college students through career advising, coaching, professional development, internship support, or related student services.
- Experience developing and facilitating programs, workshops, presentations, or educational experiences.
- Strong communication, presentation, organizational, relationship-management, and project-coordination skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, exercise professional judgment, work independently within established goals, and collaborate across organizational areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, education, organizational leadership, business, human resources, marketing, arts administration, or a related field.
- Experience developing employer partnerships through outreach, business development, recruiting, or partnership development.
- Experience coordinating internship or experiential learning initiatives in higher education.
- Knowledge of the NACE Career Readiness Competencies and internship best practices.
- Experience supervising student employees, graduate assistants, or interns.
- Experience using Handshake or a comparable career management platform.
- Experience with program assessment, employer engagement data, grants, sponsorships, or externally funded initiatives.
- Experience working with performing arts students, creative industries, arts organizations, or other specialized student populations.
Equipment Operated Working Conditions
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Occasional bending, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 lbs of weight). Regular use of desktop computer is required calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress.

Duty and Responsibility
Internships & Experiential Learning:
- Manage and coordinate the development, implementation, administration, and ongoing improvement of internship and experiential learning programs for undergraduate and graduate students.
- Develop and administer career-connected experiences beyond traditional internships, including micro-internships, project-based experiences, career treks, employer site visits, job shadowing, and other applied learning opportunities.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic leadership to connect internship and experiential learning opportunities with academic programs and student career outcomes.
- Manage, maintain, and improve assigned processes, resources, guidelines, and communications that support effective internship and experiential learning experiences.
- Serve as a knowledgeable resource for students, faculty, staff, and employers regarding internship and experiential learning practices, policies, resources, and opportunities.
- Monitor participation, student needs, and program outcomes to identify barriers, recommend improvements, and strengthen access and program quality. Research potential grants, employer funding, sponsorships, and other resources, and assist with proposals or implementation as assigned.
- Manage and coordinate communication and promotion of experiential learning opportunities through Handshake, faculty partnerships, employer relationships, and University communication channels.
- Participate in University committees, initiatives, and cross-functional efforts related to internships, experiential learning, and career-connected learning
Percentage Of Time 30 Duty and Responsibility
Employer Partnerships:
- Develop and maintain employer and industry relationships that expand career opportunities, talent pipelines, and engagement for Roosevelt students and alumni.
- Conduct proactive employer outreach through professional networks, industry associations, alumni connections, employer visits, LinkedIn, referrals, and targeted prospecting.
- Meet with employers to understand workforce needs, recruitment strategies, early-career talent priorities, and opportunities for collaboration.
- Manage an assigned portfolio of employer and industry partners, maintain regular communication, and identify opportunities for continued engagement.
- Manage and coordinate employer engagement activities, including classroom visits, information sessions, networking, mentoring, career fairs, site visits, career treks, sponsorships, and other talent-development initiatives.
- Connect employer talent needs with students, academic programs, faculty, alumni, and Career Services resources to strengthen recruiting and career pathways.
- Maintain accurate employer, partnership, opportunity, and engagement data in Handshake and other University systems.
- Review employer feedback, recruiting trends, and labor-market information to support career programming, student preparation, and recommendations for partnership development.
- Represent Roosevelt University and Career Services in employer meetings, professional associations, networking events, community engagements, and other approved external activities.

Career Programs & Professional Development:
- Manage, coordinate, and deliver assigned career readiness programs for undergraduate and graduate students through workshops, classroom presentations, panels, networking opportunities, mock interviews, and other career-focused educational experiences.
- Provide programming related to resume and cover letter development, interviewing, networking, LinkedIn, internship and job searching, professional communication, personal branding, and workplace preparation.
- Incorporate the NACE Career Readiness Competencies into assigned Career Services programming and experiential learning initiatives.
- Help students identify and communicate skills developed through academic, employment, internship, leadership, and co-curricular experiences.
- Partner with employers and alumni to introduce students to industries, career pathways, workplace expectations, and professional opportunities.
- Collaborate with faculty to integrate career readiness and professional development into appropriate academic experiences.
- Develop and maintain scalable career education resources that students can access independently through Handshake and other University platforms.
Percentage Of Time 20 Duty and Responsibility
Career Advising & CCPA Liaison:
- Provide targeted career advising primarily to CCPA students and students seeking specialized internship or experiential learning support.
- Advise students on internship and job searches, resumes and cover letters, interviewing, networking, LinkedIn, career exploration, and professional preparation.
- Serve as the primary Career Services contact for CCPA students, faculty, staff, and academic leadership.
- Partner with CCPA faculty and leadership to identify and respond to the career development, internship, employer engagement, and professional preparation needs of CCPA students.
- Manage and coordinate CCPA-specific career programs, workshops, industry connections, and professional development opportunities.
- Cultivate relationships with employers, alumni, professional associations, and organizations within the arts, entertainment, cultural, nonprofit, and creative sectors to expand opportunities and industry connections for CCPA students.

Program Coordination, Assessment & Department Support:
- Develop annual goals and work plans for assigned internship, experiential learning, employer engagement, and career programming responsibilities in collaboration with the Director of Career Services.
- Independently manage and coordinate assigned programs, initiatives, and partnerships within established priorities, and recommend improvements based on participation, feedback, and outcomes.
- Maintain assessment measures related to internship activity, employer engagement, student participation, learning, and career outcomes. Use data and feedback from students, employers, and faculty to evaluate effectiveness and recommend program, service, and partnership improvements.
- Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and recommendations related to assigned functional areas and departmental priorities.
- Monitor timelines, deliverables, partner commitments, and operational details across assigned programs and communicate progress, risks, and recommendations to the Director of Career Services.
- Supervise, train, schedule, assign work to, and provide feedback to assigned undergraduate student employees and/or graduate assistants.
- Participate in Career Services and University committees, working groups, and external partnerships as assigned.
- Contribute to departmental projects, office coverage, and operational needs in coordination with the Director of Career Services; this position does not assume departmental leadership or the Director's supervisory authority in the Director's absence.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and best practices in career services, internships, experiential learning, employer engagement, early-career recruiting, and workforce development.
- Perform other related duties consistent with the scope and level of the position.
