Primary Purpose: Provide responsible supervision for young children while teaching developmentally appropriate skills to foster growth and independence through planned but flexible program activities.
Qualifications: Education/Certification: • High school diploma or GED or enrolled in a High School public school work-study program. • Must be 18 years of age or 17 years of age and enrolled in a High School public school work-study program. • CDA and/or childcare training preferred.
Special Knowledge/Skills: • Must assist in implementing activities to meet childrens developmental needs. • Must help teach self-discipline and acceptable behavior. • Must support fellow caregivers in maintaining an organized, nurturing classroom. • Must regularly attend training classes to advance personal and professional skills. • Must be physically able to lift 30 pounds to table height. • Must become familiar with Texas Minimum Standards for Registered Child Care Centers.
Experience: Minimum one year experience working in a childcare center preferred.
