Job Overview We are seeking multiple compassionate and dedicated Caregivers (Direct Support Professionals) to provide exceptional support and assistance to adults with special needs. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for those you serve by delivering personalized care with kindness, patience, and professionalism. Applicants can expect to work in a level 6 Group Home for adults with developmental & intellectual disabilities. Residents of the home will have a history of displaying maladaptive behaviors.
Assist residents or clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, shaving, brushing teeth, feeding, and dispensing medications.
Administer medications and assist with medication management following care plans and HIPAA regulations
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
Staff will use their personal vehicles to transport residents of the home to necessary medical appointments, and regularly schedule special events/outings
Maintain a clean and safe home by completing routine housekeeping
Daily note taking and documentation of shifts summaries, progress towards IPP goals, notes on any incidents that have taken place and data tracking
Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
Follow all training protocols
Attend all scheduled mandatory staff in-service trainings
Re-direct & de-escalate behaviors
Staff members must receive and pass multiple trainings to obtain certificates such as; CPI, CPR/First Aid, & DSP Year 1 & DSP Year 2
Qualifications
DSP Year 1 & 2 preferred but not required
Must have reliable transportation and maintain vehicle insurance
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must pass DOJ & FBI background check
Pay scale
$20 starting
$21 with DSP Year 1 & Year 2
$22 with DSP Year 1 & Year 2 + Bachelor's degree in relative industry
$23 with DSP Year 1 & Year 2 + RBT Certification + Bachelor's degree in relative industry
