Caregiver Needed – Immediate Opening (McClellanville, SC)
Senior Helpers is actively hiring immediately for a dependable and compassionate caregiver to support a senior client in their home. This is a meaningful opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships while helping a client remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home.
What You’ll Do
You will provide a balance of companionship, safety support, and light daily assistance, including:
- Friendly companionship and conversation
- Light housekeeping (dishes, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, bathroom cleaning, trash removal)
- Laundry and changing bed linens
- Meal and snack preparation
- Supervision and verbal cueing during bathing for safety
- Standby assistance with mobility, walking, and transfers as needed
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in condition or concerns to the office
Schedule (Consistent Weekly Hours)
This is a set part-time weekday schedule:
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Wednesday: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
About the Client
- Alert, oriented, and committed to maintaining independence
- Ambulatory and generally independent
- Uses a cane or walker on more difficult days due to severe arthritis (back, left leg, knee)
- Manages medications independently
- Enjoys volunteering, social events, theater, and outdoor activities
- Non-smoker, no pets in the home
Medical Conditions
- Severe arthritis
- Hypertension
- Acid reflux
- Depression
- History of prostate cancer
- History of kidney removal
We Are Looking For Someone Who Is:
- Reliable, patient, and compassionate
- Comfortable providing safety supervision and gentle assistance
- Experienced in senior care preferred, but not required
- Strong in communication and observation skills
- Respectful of independence while offering support when needed
