Job Title: Caregiver (CNA/HCA)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Caregiver (Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Care Aide) to provide high-quality care and support to residents in our assisted living community. The ideal candidate will promote residents' independence, dignity, and well-being while assisting with daily living activities in a safe and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
Help residents with eating, hydration, and meal assistance as needed.
Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or mental condition to the nurse or supervisor.
Take and record vital signs when required.
Assist with medication reminders or medication administration as permitted by state regulations and facility policy.
Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents.
Provide companionship, emotional support, and meaningful engagement with residents.
Assist residents with transfers and ambulation using proper body mechanics and equipment.
Accurately document care provided and complete required reports.
Respond promptly to resident call lights and emergencies.
Follow all infection control, safety, confidentiality (HIPAA), and facility policies and procedures.
Work collaboratively with nurses, caregivers, families, and other team members to provide quality resident care.
Qualifications:
Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or HCA (Home Care Aide) certification, as required by state regulations.
Current CPR and First Aid certification (preferred or required).
Ability to pass a background check and meet state licensing requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compassionate, patient, and dependable with a positive attitude.
Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely.
Previous experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home care is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
