Assisting Hands Home Care is looking for a compassionate and dependable CNA, HHA, or PCA with experience caring for clients with dementia. This position is providing one-on-one care for a female client in her home in Chantilly, Virginia, every weekend from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.


We are looking for someone who understands that dementia care takes more than completing tasks. Patience, attentiveness, reassurance, and the ability to maintain a comfortable and consistent routine are especially important for this client.


Schedule

• Weekend shifts
• 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Consistent 7-hour daytime shifts
• Additional shifts may also be available in Centreville, Manassas, Gainesville, and surrounding areas

What you’ll do

• Provide compassionate one-on-one companionship and supervision
• Assist with personal care and daily routines
• Support bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting as needed
• Assist with safe mobility and transfers
• Prepare meals and provide light housekeeping
• Provide medication reminders
• Maintain a calm, safe, and reassuring environment
• Observe and report changes in the client’s condition or behavior
• Document the care provided after each visit
  
  

What we need from you

• Valid CNA, HHA, or PCA certification in Virginia
• Previous experience caring for clients with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease
• Comfortable providing hands-on personal care
• Current CPR certification
• Proof of negative TB screening
• Ability to pass required background checks
• Reliable personal transportation
• Valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. and safely assist with transfers
• Dependable weekend availability
