Position Overview

As a Caribou Coffee Barista, you'll be at the heart of the guest experience by delivering exceptional hospitality, crafting high-quality beverages, and creating a welcoming environment that keeps guests coming back.

Whether you're making handcrafted drinks, recommending favorite menu items, or sharing a smile, you'll help bring the Caribou experience to life every day.

What You'll Do

Deliver Outstanding Guest Service

• Build genuine relationships with guests through friendly, personalized service.

• Listen carefully and anticipate guest needs.

• Make knowledgeable menu recommendations.

• Create memorable experiences that keep guests returning.

Craft Quality Food & Beverages

• Prepare handcrafted beverages according to Caribou Coffee standards.

• Prepare and serve food items following food safety and quality standards.

• Maintain speed, accuracy, and consistency during busy periods.

Support Daily Operations

• Take guest orders and accurately process payments.

• Operate the cash register and follow all cash handling procedures.

• Float between barista, cashier, dining room, and support responsibilities as business needs require.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked café.

• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.

Be a Great Teammate

• Support fellow team members and communicate effectively.

• Take direction from leadership and adapt to changing priorities.

• Look for ways to improve the guest experience and help the team succeed.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years of age.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, afternoons, weekends, and some holidays.

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Ability to maintain positive working relationships with guests and team members.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, coffee shop, retail, or customer service experience is helpful, but not required.

• A willingness to learn and become Caribou Barista Certified.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for 4 to 8 hour shifts.

• Lift up to 50 pounds.

• Bend, reach, twist, and move throughout the shift.

• Use hands continuously to prepare beverages and food.

• Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
