Your commitment to excellence and problem-solving skills contributes to KBR's mission of building a safer, more secure, and sustainable world.What You'll DoIn the role of CARPENTER, your duties will include:Perform routine and preventative maintenance of building woodwork and associated equipment.Design, build, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood and other materials, including furniture, stairways, door frames, partitions, and rafters.Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements and provide accurate work estimates.Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., fiberglass and drywall) according to measurements.Inspect building frameworks (e.g., walls, roofs) to identify the need for repairs or replacements and ensure structural integrity.Liaise with other maintenance teams to coordinate renovations or major repair tasks.Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during all construction activities.Maintain accurate records of materials inventory and task completion to ensure accountability and project tracking.Other duties as requiredRequirements:Must be a US citizenMust possess an active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a US Top Secret Clearance.High school diploma or equivalent (GED)TVC/Journeyman Card, Journeyman Carpenter Certificate or Completion of a recognized apprenticeship or vocational program.(10) years of experience, two (2) of which are in a lead or supervisory role.Possess practical knowledge of repairs installation of floor and ceiling tile, walls (plaster, block, drywall), masonry work, locksmithing, cabinet making, framing, form work and general knowledge of the painting trade.Have experience with operating small power tools and machinery as required.Have experience reading blueprints and perform material take-offs from prints.A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends and holidays as required.Preferred Additional Skills: Effective Leadership and Communication skills to professionally work with the customer and subordinates.Knowledge of PM programs.This is a contingent position based upon contract award and will be located OCONUS We Deliver - Together.KBR EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER STATEMENTKBR is an equal opportunity employer.
