Summary: The Carpenter has knowledge of various carpentry techniques and is responsible for layout, installation, repairing, finishing, and maintaining various structures and fixtures in residential buildings. This role will install cabinets, shelving, drywall and insulation while also adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks and hinges. Other duties will include cutting and measuring materials according to a client's requirements. A successful Carpenter is hardworking, reliable, and be detail oriented.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches and specifications to determine project requirements.
• Take acurate measurements and calculate material quantities needed for projects.
• Cut, shape, assemble, and install lumber and other material according to measurements.
• Install doors, windows, hardware, trim, cabinetry, shelving and other finish carpentry elements.
• Perform rough and finish carpentry work for construction and renovation projects.
• Build scaffolding and other construction structures.
• Complete punch list items, including drywall repairs, trim touch-ups and hardware adjustments.
• Diagnose and resolve door, frame and hardware related issues.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized condition.
• Adhere to all company safety policies.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proven experience as a carpenter.
• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials, methods and tools.
• Punchlist experience.
• Completion of OSHA 10 or 30, or ability to complete.
• Proficiency with power tools, hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to details and commitment to producing quality workmanship.
• Positive attitude, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, climb, squat, reach, and kneel.
• Willingness to do non-trade specific tasks as needed.
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings.

Pay & Benefits:

• Pay range: $23-$27per hour.
• Actual pay depends on education, experience, and performance.
• Benefits include dental, vision, paid holidays, sick time.

Work Conditions:

This is a fully on-site role at the project location(s). Must have ability to stoop, stand, climb, frequently lift a minimum of 50 lbs. Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine. Involves movement between floors, and properties to facilitate work. Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you.
