Carpenter/Maintenance Tech

Qualifications:

1.  Minimum of 3 years’ general carpentry experience.
2.  Carpentry skills including hanging cabinets, installation of countertops, hardware   replacement and adjustment.  
3.  Experience doing remodeling work is helpful as it presents a variety of different   situations. 
4.  Ability to perform labor intensive work – often working in dirty conditions. 
5.  Must have own basic carpenter tools. 
6.  Ability to lift 50 pounds and carry materials. 
7.  Ability to work overtime when needed and respond to emergency situations after   normal work hours is required. 
8.  Seeking candidates who reside within 30 minutes of the office.

Dress code: 

• Long pants (jeans), work boots that come up around the ankle, shirts provided by Monument Enterprises 
• Personal Protection Equipment: will be provided by Monument Enterprises

Requirements: 

• Must be able to pass drug screening 
• Must be able to pass background check 
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the office  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.  Bilingual candidates are a plus.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digits numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of US $ and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Carpenter:

1. Providing carpentry & remodeling services to HOAs, condominium communities and commercial clients to include rough and finish carpentry, flooring, drywall, cabinetry, light electrical and light plumbing. 
2. HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical experience is a plus. 
3. Interacts with clients and provide exceptional customer service that exceeds expectations.   
4. This position may require work on a Saturday occassionally.

Responsibilities include:

• Turnover of vacant apartments & condominiums, including but not limited to replacement of electrical and plumbing fixtures, installation of doors, including Bi-Fold doors. 
• Repair and installation of electrical fixtures, including lighting and exhaust fans
  Painting. 
• Drywall installation & repair. 
• Maintenance of common areas, including, but not limited to stair treads, cove base, and baseboards. 
• Plumbing repairs, including repairs to toilets, installation of sinks and vanities, unclogging drains, replacement of showerheads, minor repairs to garbage disposals, etc. 
• Responding to all service requests from residents, including HVAC requests. 
• Troubleshooting ALL HVAC equipment and appliances. 
• Appliance installation and replacement. 
• Snow removal and grounds maintenance. 
• Power Washing. 
• Basic Inventory tracking.
