Northern State University is seeking an experienced and dependable carpenter for a full time, benefits-eligible position as a Carpenter/Painer. This position plays an important role in maintaining and improving campus facilities through quality craftsmanship, repair work, and renovation projects.
Position Responsibilities include a wide variety of residential and commercial building maintenance and repair functions, including:
General building repair and maintenance
Remodeling and renovation projects
Rough and finish carpentry Framing, trim work, and cabinet making
Preparation for small painting projects as needed including painting offices or small touch up projects.
Carpet, tile, and grout installation and repair
Installation and repair of building materials and fixtures
Preventative maintenance and repair projects across campus facilities
Qualifications
Experience in carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance
Knowledge of tools, equipment, hardware, and construction materials
Ability to accurately measure, cut, fit, and install materials
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Commitment to quality workmanship and safety practices
This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement benefits, three weeks paid vacation and 11 paid holidays.
