Neil Kelly is seeking a Carpenter with residential remodeling experience to join our Seattle team. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys residential carpentry work, is a great communicator, and likes working on a team. This position requires initiative, attention to detail, understanding of structural modifications, and experience with historic and modern home construction.

What your day will look like:
Carpenters at Neil Kelly work on a project team consisting of a Project Manager, a Designer, support staff, and other skilled Carpenters. Projects vary greatly in complexity and scale. The ideal candidate will be able to complete a variety of residential carpentry tasks with skill and pitch in on simple projects when necessary. The person in this position also serves as a back-up box truck driver and a warehouse assistant on occasion.
Skills you bring:
- 3+ years of experience with kitchen and bathroom remodeling as well as general home remodeling and maintenance
- Attention to detail, motivation to do quality work, and ability to work in a clean, tidy manner
- The ability to plan ahead, analyze problems, and come up with creative solutions
- Customer service and client interaction skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as a member of a team
- Experience in demolition, site protection, framing, drywall repair (both nailing and finishing), window and door installation, cabinets, moldings, exterior trim, and interior finish work
- Ability to produce and deliver projects within approved time schedules and budgets
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and detailed specifications
- Construction math skills and the ability to use technology to research, learn, and apply new skills as necessary (we conduct a Construction Math assessment)
- Ability to perform physical tasks including carrying, climbing, crawling, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, hauling, and lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel the Seattle metro area by car
- Ability to complete skills trainings to meet company and OSHA safety requirements and maintain current First Aid/CPR certification
Candidates must have the necessary tools for a carpentry position as well as a pickup truck with a canopy or a utility type van. Pre-employment screenings including criminal background, motor vehicle report, and drug screenings must be successfully completed prior to employment.
