Carpenter

• Layout, prepare, erect and assemble forms for pouring concrete.
• Set, brace and align forms in place with lumber, timbers, turnbuckles, clamps, wall ties, coil rods, etc. for use in building concrete piers, footings, and walls.
• Signal operators of construction equipment (such as cranes, rigging hardware, diggers, etc.) to facilitate movement and adjustment of machinery/equipment and install building framework where needed.
• Use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, plumb bobs, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors and pry bars, electric and pneumatic tools.
• Measure, cut, and/or shape boards, timbers, plywood, plastic, and other materials.
• Install barricades as appropriate to eliminate workplace hazards.
• Work efficiently, productively and safely to meet productions goals set by Suntec leadership.
• Dismantle, stack and sort concrete formwork.
• Examine blueprints, sketches, building plans to ensure quality work.
• Perform routine inspections of tool/equipment to ensure safety and quality.
• Provide direction to laborers and other construction helpers
• Build, install, brace, and remove concrete formwork for structural concrete.
• Read blueprints and layout plans to ensure accurate construction.
• Measure, cut, and assemble wood, plywood, and forming systems.
• Safely operate hand and power tools.
• Work with cranes, equipment operators, and other trades to complete projects.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas while meeting production and quality standards.
• Inspect tools and equipment and assist in mentoring less experienced crew members.
