At Great Northern Builders, Inc., you'll find steady, meaningful work, a supportive team, and leaders who value craftsmanship, integrity, and balance. We're a woman-owned, award-winning residential construction company specializing in high-quality remodeling, additions, and custom homes throughout the Seacoast of New Hampshire and Southern Maine.

We pride ourselves on being ethical, authentic, and deeply knowledgeable -- a team that communicates openly, follows through on commitments, and delivers beautiful, lasting results. Our company operates using the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), providing structure, accountability, and growth opportunities at every level.

We're looking for a Carpenter who takes pride in quality work, shows up dependably, and wants to continue developing their skills in residential construction. This person will support remodeling, additions, and custom home projects by performing hands-on carpentry work, maintaining clean and safe job sites, and working closely with the Master Carpenter, Project Managers, and trade partners.

This is a great role for someone with solid carpentry experience who enjoys working as part of a professional team and wants to grow within a company that values craftsmanship and accountability.

  • Support job site setup, material handling, cleanup, and organization.
  • Maintain safe, clean, and professional work areas.
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and with attention to detail.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with Master Carpenter, Project Managers, coworkers, and trade partners.
  • Help identify job site issues or material needs and communicate them promptly.
  • Use tools and materials properly and responsibly.
  • Represent Great Northern Builders' values through professionalism, respect, and pride in work.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on residential carpentry or construction experience preferred.
  • Experience with framing, trim, finish work, remodeling, or residential building projects.
  • Ability to follow plans, instructions, and job site direction.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn company standards.
  • Comfortable using common carpentry tools and equipment safely.
  • Professional, respectful communication skills with coworkers, clients, and trade partners.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • OSHA certification or safety training a plus.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in varying conditions.

Personal Qualities

  • Dependable, hardworking, and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Positive, respectful, and team-oriented.
  • Open to feedback and committed to improving skills.
  • Organized and aware of job site cleanliness and safety.
  • Proud of quality work and doing things the right way.
  • Calm and adaptable when project needs change.
