Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced carpenter who can handle framing, formwork, finish carpentry, and general construction support. You will work on diverse projects, including plumbing infrastructure, utility enclosures, concrete forms, building retrofits, tenant improvements, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform framing, sheathing, siding, and trim work
- Build, set, and strip concrete forms and falsework
- Install doors, windows, cabinets, and fixtures
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project plans
- Collaborate with plumbers, laborers, and other trades on integrated installations
- Operate power tools and carpentry equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces and uphold jobsite safety protocols
- Support jobsite setup, layout, and material handling
- Perform repairs, demolition, and construction prep work as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of professional carpentry experience (public works experience a plus)
- Proficient in measuring, cutting, and installing materials accurately
- Strong understanding of construction math and blueprint reading
- Familiarity with OSHA safety practices and use of PPE
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various weather conditions
- Reliable transportation and valid drivers license
- Willingness to travel to job sites throughout the [Bay Area / region]
- Must be a team player, punctual, and take pride in high-quality work
Preferred:
- Experience on prevailing wage jobs
- Familiarity with utility construction and plumbing support work
- Ability to use layout tools (laser level, chalk lines, transit, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of plumbing systems (a plus, not required)
